Pointe Claire city council has voted to return to weekly garbage pick up, for now.
It did so Tuesday evening by a margin of 6-2.
Mayor John Belvedere told CJAD 800 News it'll be for one year during June, July and August.
"Our goal is to just hit reset and take it to the next level. The system wasn't working for everybody. The citizens made that point, their voice was heard and we're gonna try to find solutions, we're gonna try to help the people learn how to do it better. Our ultimate goal to reduce the amount of garbage that we sent to the dump", said Belvedere.
The city voted three years ago in favor of semi-monthly garbage collection during the year.
Mayor Morris Trudeau said back then the hope was to increase recycling and composting.
