Firefighters were busy early Friday morning after a major fire broke out in Pointe-aux-Trembles.
The blaze broke out inside a duplex under renovation at the corner of Notre-Dame and 4th Ave. shortly before 1:00 A.M.
The intense flames quickly made their way through the building, ultimately spreading to the connected depanneur and apartment next-door.

The family living above the depanneur escaped unharmed and has been taken in by the Red Cross.
About 80 firefighters responded to the three alarm blaze. The extent of the damage has not been determined.
At one point power in the area was cut to just over 4,000 Hydro-Quebec customers.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and the case has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.
