In the wake of several weeks of bad news on top of bad news about the Formula E race in Montreal, the Mayor Valerie Plante, will clear the air later this morning.
The Mayor has called a news conference for 11 a.m. to discuss the future of the race.
The announcement will come after a number of reports on the large financial losses facing race promoters and the apparent lack of a location to stage the race next summer.
The Mayor has pledged not to hold the race on the streets of downtown Montreal again.
The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, which had been touted as an possible replacement site, will not be available because the track will shut down for renovations several weeks following next summer's Formula 1 race at the end of June.
