Shopper's Drug Mart, which operates as Pharmaprix here in Quebec, has received a federal licence to sell medical cannabis products online.
Health Canada's list of authorized sellers has been updated to say that the national drugstore chain can sell fresh and dried cannabis, as well as plants, seeds and oil.
The only legal distribution method for medical pot is by mail-order from federally-licenced producers directly to patients.
Pharmaprix's parent company Loblaw Companies has said it's too soon to determine when online orders will commence.
