Three lines of Montreal's metro system were down Wednesday morning for about half an hour because the Berri-UQAM station needed to be aired out.
Shortly before 7:00 A.M. the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) shutdown service for a large section of both the Green and Orange lines while the Yellow line was stopped completely.
Service resumed at about 7:15 A.M.
The stoppage appears to have been caused by a blast of pepper spray set off inside the Berri-UQAM station.
Some passengers were hit while several others had trouble breathing, which forced the STM to shutdown the Berri-UQAM station in order to air it out.
