A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car Saturday night in Laval.
The 45-year-old man was crossing Samson Blvd. in the Chomedey district between two intersections at around 10:30 p.m. when he was hit by an oncoming car.
The driver, a 38-year-old man, stayed on-scene and waited for police to arrive. First responders attempted to revive the victim, but was declared dead on the scene.
Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash — they suspect the driver might not have seen the pedestrian because the area was dimly lit.
