A 66-year-old man was struck and killed by a car evading authorities reportedly after leaving the Pointe-Calumet Beachclub, according to the the provincial independent investigations bureau.
The bureau, known as the BEI, is now investigating.
According to the BEI, police on-location at the day-time, pool-side dance club noticed a car leaving that was being driven erratically around 3:30 p.m.
Police chased after the car but it picked up speed, and officers soon lost sight of it. It was located nearby after the car smashed into a hydro pole.
However, before that, the BEI says the vehicle reportedly struck a 66-year-old pedestrian, killing the man instantly.
The 23-year-old driver and two passengers were arrested and taken to a hospital for minor injuries, according to a news release of police information provided to the bureau.
