Montreal police said a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the eastern portion of the Ville Marie borough.
An elderly woman remained in critical condition Friday evening following the incident at the corner of Sherbrooke and Bercy
"A car going westbound came into collision with a pedestrian that was crossing Sherbrooke from the north to the south. So, after this collision the 73-year old woman was taken to hospital", said Montreal police spokesman Daniel Lacoursiere.
The driver, a 65-year old man, who wasn't injured, met with police.
What he told them wasn't known.
