The owner of the pit bull that killed a woman this past summer in Pointe-aux-Trembles will not face criminal charges.
The Crown prosecutor’s office said there was not enough evidence to charge Franklin Junior Frontal with criminal negligence.
At the time of the attack on June 8, Frontal was in school and did not know of the incident until he saw police when he returned home.
He told his lawyer that he left home, as normal and had left the dog inside the house. He added he is not sure how to dog got out, adding he did not leave a gate open.
The attack that killed Christiane Vadnais was at least the third time the dog, known as Lucifer, had been aggressive.
The first was when Frontal had tied the dog to a pole outside a depanneur. He got loose and latched onto another man's sleeve. On a second occasion Lucifer bit Frontal's cousin inside his home, both maintain the dog thought the cousin was an intruder.
