The holiday drive home service Operation Nez Rouge kicked off one week early this year, and officials say it was a big success.
The organization reports driving 4300 people home from parties over the weekend which they say justifies their decision.
That compares to an average of 3500 rides in an average weekend last year.
In past years, the drive home service would begin operating the first weekend of December, but officials say they are responding to a trend by companies and other organizations to hold their annual Christmas parties earlier in December and late in November.
Operation Nez Rouge will kick into high gear December 7th when it will begin operating on a daily basis.
3700 volunteer drivers have signed on this year, but organizers say more are welcome.
