Hundreds of homeless people were served at the Old Brewery Mission on Christmas Day, and with a recent change, they have more to look forward to.
Clients at the shelter can be warmer for longer during this winter season.
Alex Desjardins, coordinator at the Old Brewery Mission, says the shelter changed its system this past year.
"When a lot of people came in during the night, they had to leave in the morning. Now, isn't the case anymore. They come in, we get them here and we get them to stay here for a while", said Desjardins.
And clients are especially grateful for this kind of service .
"They're a blessing from heaven, literally here, it's a blessing from heaven", said Chris, a shelter dependant.
The winter protocol at the shelter means clients are encouraged to come for 3 meals a day, especially supper, until April.
