A seriously accident was narrowly avoided late Sunday as a motorist got onto Highway 15 in the wrong direction on the South Shore.
At around 11:00 P.M. several calls were made to 9-1-1 reporting a vehicle going north on the southbound highway in La Prairie. Provincial police managed to setup a road block to intercept the octogenarian who managed to make his way to Saint-Lambert, about 10 kilometres away, before being stopped.

No one was hurt; two cars nearly collided with the vehicle before swerving out of the way.
The driver and his wife were both transported to hospital where the driver will undergo a psychiatric evaluation, and the man's licence could be suspended based on the results.
