Investigators are continuing their work today at the site of the plane crash that claimed the life of former Alberta premier Jim Prentice.
Transportation Safety Board investigators say there were no flight recorders on the Cessna Citation jet -- it wasn't required to carry any.
They say that will make their work more difficult but there are a number of other factors that must be looked at including pilot training and weather conditions.
The T-S-B says it hopes to conclude its investigation within a year.
The pilot of the plane has been identified as Jim Kruk, a former R-C-M-P officer and aviation enthusiast.
His family released a statement this weekend describing him as a "professional's professional.''
All four people on board the plane died when the aircraft crashed just after takeoff from Kelowna on Thursday night.
