A monument has been unveiled on the West Island.
It's dedicated to veterans who return home from conflicts suffering from post-traumatic stress and who are homeless.
Steve Gregory was one of the organizers of Saturday's event.
"Just because our troops come back, doesn't mean they they don't bring the war with them. In fact, the scars of their deployments often haunt them for years after and we must be respectful of their sacrafice and the sacrafice of their families. You can't just forget them", said Gregory.
The bronze sculpture, called "The Return" depicts a World War 2 soldier returning home.
It's on the Task property on the TransCanada service road in Kirkland.
