Did you know Montreal's new anti-pit bull legislation doesn't just affect pit bulls?
There are a number of measures affecting other animals.
"If you have a small dog, any sort of pet owner, basically, is affected by this new bylaw. If you have a cat, as I do, I have to get a permit. If she is not sterilized, or he, it'll cost you $30 to get a cat permit. If you do have proof that they've been fixed, it'll only cost you $10. If your cat does get out somehow and it doesn't have a tag, you can be in a lot of trouble, so, your safest bet is to register your animal", said CJAD's Robyn Flynn told the Aaron Rand show.
The cost for a permit if you have a dog is $25 dollars, if it's sterilized.
If it isn't, it'll $60.
As well, Flynn added, if you have a dog that weighs more than 20 kilos, a labrador, or a retriever, anything like that, it'll now have to be on a harness.
