Newly-sworn in premier Francois Legault has kept his promise to maintain the Anglo Secretariat, which the Liberals created.
That job now belongs to Ste-Rose, Laval MNA Christopher Skeete.
He told CTV the fact that he doesn't have the title of Anglo minister doesn't mean he won't be effective in his new role to address the community's concerns.
"Don't forget, I report directly to the premier. So, I have the premier's ear on this and the secretariat resides within the premier's ministries... it shows how important and how central our desire is to engage with the English community", said Skeete.
Skeete, who comes from a bi-cultural background, was asked by CTV if he defines himself an an anglophone within the caucus.
"I'll say what I've said before... my mother was French-Canadian, her name was Nicole Ouelette. My father was born in Trinidad and moved to Quebec and learned French and spoke to me in English all the time. I went to English school. I don't know what that makes me. I'm pretty sure it makes me a Quebecer. Whether or not it makes me an anglophone Quebecer or a Francophone Quebecer, I leave it to the audience to decide that" said Skeete.
