Projet Montreal is challenging the timeline given by the city on who knew what, when during this week's overnight traffic jam on Highway 13.
According to the Montreal Gazette, the opposition is pointing to a tweet directed at mayor Denis Coderre at around 7:30 Tuesday night. The woman who wrote it indicated she was on a bus stuck on the 13 and that it appeared no help was coming.
Coderre has said the city only became aware of the severity of the traffic jam at around midnight. Even then, the mayor says Transport Quebec had only informed the city that the highway was closed and did not mention that there were hundreds of drivers stuck on the road.
Projet Montreal has also said it feels the snowstorm justified the use of Montreal's integrated command centre, reserved for major emergencies and the co-ordination of security services in the event of a disaster.
