Motorists are having to deal with a new round of major road closures for the Formula E race and it will get worse as race day approaches and finally arrives.
The Papineau exit off the Ville Marie eastbound is now closed until Monday morning at 5 a.m.
Motorists were not allowed to turn left on Papineau coming out of the tunnel even though drivers were only supposed to be barred from turning left tonight and tomorrow night according to the city.
The exit for the Old Port/Berri/St.Laurent will be closed as of tomorrow night also until Monday morning 5 a.m.
Access to the Ville Marie eastbound will be shut down pretty much all weekend starting from Friday midnight, from the Decarie southbound ramp and from the de la Cathédrale and Notre Dame West entrances.
Westbound Ville Marie will shut down between Panet and Lucien-L'Allier as of tomorrow night at 7 p.m. until Monday morning at 5 a.m.
Berri northbound is now cut off at Viger, though the city website says the Berri closure would take effect tonight.
Starting Wednesday night, the sector around Viger, Saint-Antoine, Berri, and Notre-Dame will be shut down.
To get to the Jacques Cartier Bridge, motorists are being detoured to Frontenac or St. Laurent and then to Ontario and Papineau.
"To get to the Jacques Cartier Bridge, my recommendation would be to, somewhere before St. Denis, move north to Sherbrooke and come in to the bridge via Papineau that way," said traffic expert Rick Leckner in an interview with CJAD 800 News.
