It's shaping up to be a busy fall for Montreal's film production industry, with several major Hollywood productions scheduled to shoot here over the next few months.
A few of them began shooting over the summer — including X-Men: Dark Phoenix, the latest installment of the X-Men franchise, starring Jessica Chastain, Sophie Turner and James McAvoy. Production for that one is expected to wrap up in October.
Meanwhile, Vancouver-born Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron are expected in town to shoot a comedy called Flarsky for a few weeks in October. In Flarsky, Rogen is slated to play a political journalist who tries to hook up with an old babysitter, played by Theron, who now holds an important government position.
British actress Felicity Jones is due in town to shoot On The Basis Of Sex, an upcoming biopic on longtime U.S. Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Jones is set to play a young Ginsburg taking on sexual discrimination cases in her early law career.
There will also be an upcoming TV series filmed here called The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair, starring Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey. Shooting began in the community of Forestville, north of Montreal, several weeks ago.
There'll also be a sci-fi thriller called Chaos Walking, starring Tom Holland, Daisy Ridley and Nick Jonas.
