Montreal snow removal is expected to resume in earnest Tuesday evening around 7pm and the City is promising to double-down on its sidewalk clearing.
City of Montreal snow crews are getting back at it after the most recent dump of snow. The City is also making some big promises after recent reports of many montrealers falling and hurting themselves due to icy, City sidewalks.
“For sure we will double the amount of time we have to go on the street maintaining a good quality for the sidewalks,” said Montreal spokesperson Philippe Sabourin.
Doubling the amount of salt and gravel used on municipal sidewalks is bound to have an impact on the snow clearing budget, but just how much?
“Hmmmmmmm….no. I don’t have those costs,” added Sabourin.
While unsure of the costs, Sabourin promised to get back to CJAD 800 with further details.
