Montreal and Laval have awarded Canada's biggest ever battery-electric bus contract.
A statement says the transit corporations in both cities have awarded New Flyer Canada a contract for 40 buses.
They're described as 40-foot, zero-emission, battery-electric Xcelsior CHARGE™ heavy-duty vehicles.
New Flyer is said to be the biggest transit bus and motor coach maker and parts distributor in North America.
The new order, supported by funding from provincial and federal governments, includes 10 buses for Laval, 30 for Montreal.
The price of the order is not mentioned in the release.
