There was an attempted child kidnapping in Montreal this week.
Police spokesman Benoit Boisselle says it happened Tuesday after school.
"A young boy was going back home from school and on Mozart Street near Clark Street in Rosemont—Petite-Patrie borough a man in the fifties tried to grip him by the neck," he said.
The 10-year-old hit the man in the face and managed to get away and run home.
The boy was not injured.
"As soon as the young boy came back home, he advised his mother, who called the school and the SPVM," said Boisselle.
Boisselle says no other similar events have been reported on its territory.
