The MNA for NDG and minister responsible for the English-speaking community says it's not true.
Kathleen Weil is quashing rumours she won't run in the upcoming provincial election.
Political analyst Bernard Drainville has been suggesting Weil won't seek re-election citing "Liberal sources."
"Really don't know if all this was just invented by somebody, I have no idea, but all I can tell you is that absolutely not, very close relationship with everybody in NDG, my executive", said Weil.
Weil added she's been working with her riding executive to plan a nomination meeting, that she's staying put.
“I find it really reprehensible how people can speculate publicly about somebody's intentions, and here I am, minister responsible for democratic institutions. It really struck me how it goes to the heart of democracy -- to do things properly, not to insinuate and not to spread rumors, especially falsities,” she added.
Three Liberal MNAs have confirmed they won't be running again: Karine Vallieres, Andre Drolet and Pierre Reid.
The provicial election is scheduled for October 1st.
