It's what a lot of people have been talking about.
A full page ad in the Gazette by a doctor with the initials C.K. laces into the Canadiens for trading PK Subban to the Nashville Predators.
The physician, identified as Dr. Charles Kowalski, a 52-year-old ER physician living in Ottawa, says "I feel anger, disappointment and embarrassment over the treatment of PK Subban by team management: the same sentiments that many fans felt after the Patrick Roy trade."
Reaction to the letter is mixed.
"It doesn't surprise me that there is still some lingering anger, but, to me, opening day, it's time for a fresh start", says TSN 690's Rick Moffat in an interveiw with CTV.
Santana Enrique, manager of memorabilia store Sports Crescent, also spoke with CTV, saying he loves the letter.
"I wasn't surprised and was surprise at the same time," he said of the trade. "It takes all this time to manifest their anger. I'm 100 per cent with this guy", said Enrique.
Kowalski, a lifelong Canadiens fan who grew up in the Prairies, is calling on Canadiens fans to donate $15, about the cost of a beer at the Bell Centre, to the hospital through a newly launched website, afranchiseheldintrust.com.
Kowalski has season tickets and says he'll only attend a game in March when the Habs host the Predators.
The Canadiens beat the Sabres in Buffalo 4-1 in their season opener on Thursday night.
