Some Pierrefonds-Roxboro flood victims today came looking for answers at one-on-one meetings with government officials, but left without getting any.
The Quebec government held the first of a series of personalized meetings at the Pierrefonds Cultural Centre with victims of last spring's flooding.
Officials from the public security and municipal affairs ministries, the borough and the Red Cross were on hand.
Joanne Jeunesse said it was a long drive to find out what she and other disgruntled residents have known for months: no evaluation report and no new information. Jeunesse has been staying with her daughter in Les Coteaux since her home was flooded.
"I'm not happy, nothing much happened," Jeunesse told CJAD 800 News.
"They cannot give me any money yet and they cannot tell me if I could repair or not so I have to wait - good or bad news - after five months."
One Gouin Boulevard resident, who also didn't get any update about how much compensation he'd be getting, said the officials inside seemed to want to help but added that they are just tiny cogs in a huge machine.
A second day of one-on-one meetings is being held tomorrow in Pierrefonds-Roxboro.
