It's not what anyone wants to hear, but a member of the CJAD 800 family did last summer.
Tracey Mckee was told she has cancer, diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, a rare and aggressive form of the disease.
Mckee, who spoke with our Ken Connors Sunday and usually fills in for him on weekends, said she's been undergoing an aggressive treatment plan.
Among other things, she's still in chemotherapy, has had 15 treatments, so far, has one more to go, plus still has to undergo surgery as well as radiation.
"I take it day by day and today's a good day and I'm sitting here talking to you and yet it still feels like I'm talking about somebody else. It's a crazy feeling. The thing is that I wasn't sick and yet they found this lump and, all of a sudden, you're a patient, it really kind of flips your world upside down", said Mckee.
Mckee, a veteran radio and TV broadcaster, as well as teacher, admitted she had no idea what triple negative breast cancer was and at first thought because she heard the word negative that it wasn't bad news.
Mckee, who's lost her hair, recounted how a total stranger tapped her on the shoulder in an elevator, looked at her in the eyes, and said "I hope you win".
We certainly hope she does.
