Hundreds of homeless people in Montreal were treated to the traditional Dinner of Kings, which is served the day after Epiphany in the Christian calendar.
They were received at Accueil Bonneau, a shelter and day activity centre on de la Commune St., where they enjoyed a hot meal.
Mayor of Montreal Valérie Plante participated in the event and helped serve her at-risk constituents.
The Archbishop of Montreal, Bishop Christian Lépine, and Alain Besner, President of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, were also on hand.
The data is difficult to come by, but according to some organizations and experts, there are more than 30,000 homeless people in Montreal.
