A sigh of relief for some LaSalle residents after a mound of dirt that has been backing up onto some homes is now being removed.
The massive dirt piled has been created due to a condo project by developer Apero on Cure de Rossi St.
Frances Huot, who lives in the area, spoke with CTV Montreal.
"The stress level is horrific," she said.
Meanwhile, the borough has fined Apero 14 times.
It also penalized the property owner.
"The last [fines] were in the amount of $4,000 each," LaSalle Mayor Manon Barbe told CTV Montreal.
She said she then sought out assistance from LaSalle's MP, David Lametti.
With his help, she adds, they were able to get Apero to dismantle and remove the dirt mound.
"He made an action," she said. "The following day, the promoter decided to present a plan of action to resolve the problems."
