Dozens of firefighters in Laval spent the night battling a general alarm blaze that destroyed part of a strip mall near Parc du Moulin in the city's east end.
The flames broke out inside a pizzeria on Montée du Moulin near La Périère and quickly got out of control.
A fifth alarm was called bringing more than 50 firefighters to the scene. More than four hours later crews had the blaze under control but not out completely.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
No one was injured.
While it was not a bitterly cold night, with the wind chill did drop temperatures below -20°C at times, which led to some trouble for the firefighters with the water supply and an icy rooftop.
