Manon Massé, one of Québec Solidaire's two spokespeople, will represent the party in the upcoming leaders' debates, and will be the left-wing party's candidate for Premier of Quebec.
The party made the announcement this morning.
The party has never had leaders in the traditional sense. They've always had two "spokespeople" — one male, one female.
The party's other spokesperson, former student leader Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois, says he isn't ready to become premier.
Québec Solidaire has three MNAs — Massé, Nadeau-Dubois, and Amir Khadir, a one-time spokesperson and the party's longest-serving MNA.
The next Quebec election is slated for Oct. 1.
