It was a case that made headlines around the world.
A 39 year old Laval man, who disrupted a Sunwing flight to Cuba forcing it to return to the airport, may have to repay his fellow travellers for their inconvenience.
Charalabos Nassios was so drunk and disruptive that the pilot on the July 6 flight for Cayo Coco was forced to turn the plane around and return to Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.
The plane was in U.S. airspace when Nassios became unruly and was escorted by a pair of U.S. Air Force F-15 fighters when it returned.
Nassios was in court Monday to hear sentencing arguments after he pleaded guilty last September to assault, uttering threats and mischief.
The prosecution says it is still waiting to receive bills from all 170 passengers aboard the planeĀ and told the court it might ask that passengers be reimbursed.
The case returns to court in March.
