Officials with the Lachine Bonneville Half-Marathon confirmed that a man who collapsed near the finish line Sunday has died.
The man fell to the ground in cardiac arrest and paramedics on scene quickly began CPR.
The 43-year-old was rushed to hospital in critical condition. Organizers confirmed on their Facebook page Monday that the man had died.
The race involved five courses that ran along the banks of Lake-St-Louis and around Park René-Levesque.
The majority of the proceeds of the event are donated to the Montreal Alzheimer Society.
