Ahmad Nehme has been found guilty of first degree murder in the 2012 stabbing death of his wife.
The jury, which had been deliberating since Wednesday, rendered its verdict on Sunday.
The court heard Catherine de Boucherville was stabbed 18 times in LaSalle.
A coroner's report said it was a case of murder in a context of conjugal violence.
The Crown argued the 55-year old Nehme thought his wife cheated on him.
Nehme admitted to the killing, but pleaded not criminally responsible citing mental illness.
The murder took place in the family home in front of the couple's 13 and 16-year old children.
