Montreal police are looking for an armed man following an attempted robbery in St-Leonard that descended into a stabbing around the dinner hour on Saturday.
"From the first information we've received, it seems the victim, a 49-year-old man, was walking near Delorme Park [at the corner of Laferté and Malouin Sts.] where he was attacked by a man who seemed like he wanted to [rob] him," said Const. Manuel Couture.
Around 5:30 p.m., the man was stabbed in the upper body and the suspect fled the area, he continued.
The victim was taken to hospital. According to Couture, despite sustaining grave injuries, his life is not in danger.
Police are still looking for the attacker. As of now, there has been no suspect description made public.
