The 41-year-old father accused of abducting his son and murding the boy's mother will appear in court in St-Jerome on Monday.
Ugo Fredette will face charges including second-degree murder.
The mother of Fredette's six-year-old son, Veronique Barbe, was found dead in her St-Eustache home on Sept. 14, the day her son was declared kidnapped, triggering an Amber Alert to locate the child.
Fredette and his son were found after an exhaustive manhunt spanning hundreds of kilometers and two provinces.
The boy was recovered safely in eastern Ontario about 24 hours after the kidnapping was first reported. Fredette was also arrested after a chase with police.
A funeral was held in St-Eustache for Barbe on Sunday. Family have thanked people for their messages and prayers.
