Make other plans if you normally use the Turcot interchange.
Most of its roads will be closed between Nov. 9th and Nov. 13th, and that includes closures during the week.
Highway 20 west will close from Thursday night to Tuesday morning.
Highway 20 east will close from Friday night to Tuesday morning and same thing for Highway 15 north from Friday night to Monday morning.
"It's gonna be a big phasing for the dismantling of the old A-15 north. So, the 15 north is the highest of the interchange, it's 25 meters high, so that's the most complicated work that we've had so far to dismantle. It's a hundred meters long that we have to dismantle and it's very, very complex", said Olivier Beaulieu, assistant director of the Turcot project, who spoke to the media, including CTV.
Mitigation measures will be in place for commuters, including free train rides on the Vaudreuil-Hudson and Candiac lines.
As well, there'll be more rush-hour train departures and additional buses, extra parking spots, free shuttles, and free public transit passes for employers to give to employees.
Transport Quebec says it hopes motorists don't ignore its message.
The Turcot construction project is said to be moving forward as expected.
“We're 73 per cent complete and by the end of the year, we'll be 75 per cent complete. We're still on schedule, still on track to finish by 2020,” added Beaulieu.
