There will be a major inconvenience for motorists who need to get to or from the West Island on the first weekend in November.
Highway 40 and its service roads, between Highway 13 and St. Jean Boulevard, will be closed in both directions.
The road closures will go into effect starting at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, with a complete closure scheduled for 6 p.m. and the road will reopen on Monday, November 5 at 5 a.m.
The Réseau express métropolitain (REM) says the closure is needed for work on the light rail system.
Crews are demolishing a railway bridge over the 40 near Henri Bourassa West.
Officials are advising drivers to use Highway 20 to get around the construction zone.
