A Montreal woman driving along Highway 20 east in the West Island had a frightening experience earlier this week when the business end of a spade crashed into her windshield.
Andrew Bujold said he thought he hit something driving on Highway 20 east through the West Island past the St. Jean overpass and when he stopped to check it out, he saw a woman pulling up behind him.
"I looked up and here was this turf-cutting spade sticking through her windshield, literally aimed at her head," said Bujold, who contacted CJAD 800 News through yourstory@cjad.com.
Bujold called 911 and he left when firefighters arrived shortly afterwards.

"She had one tiny cut on her right arm from glass but minute. She was covered (in glass particles), it was just sparkling everywhere from the sediment of glass. She was definitely in shock. It was a new car on top of that," said Bujold.
Bujold said he would like to know how she is doing and how this could have happened.

Bujold said the spade may have dropped off a truck and bounced into the windshield or it even looks like someone threw it.
"Really at this point, I haven't heard any differently, nobody knows seems exactly to know where it came from. We're not even sure what I hit as well. I just drove back later on and saw a piece of a handle," said Bujold.
"It was almost like it came from the passenger side and shot across because it was a very sharp angle."
The SQ said they get many calls about items falling off or out of vehicles and motorists have to make sure they are well secured or risk a fine of $350.
