Montreal firefighters made short work of a small but smoky fire at the Atwater Market Friday morning.
About 40 firefighters were called out at around 3:30 this morning after a passerby spotted flames coming from an electrical room outside the market.
I tried to get a better look of the damage to the Atwater Market from this morning's fire, but I ended up where I shouldn't have been and was asked (nicely) to leave. pic.twitter.com/3iKRxX8p0E

The flames were contained quickly, but officials say a lot of smoke entered the building and inspectors will be onsite Friday to ensure no food products were contaminated.
The Atwater Market will be closed pending the results of the inspection.
