Former rivals are building bridges in the Parti Quebecois: one-time PQ leadership hopeful Paul St-Pierre Plamondon has found a place at the side of the new party leader, Jean-François Lisée—his former rival.
Plamondon has been named a special adviser to Lisée, as Lisée tries to lead the party back from its worst defeat at the polls in its history.
The new party leader credits Plamondon with attracting 5,000 new members to the party, notably with the young, visible minorities and within business and entrepreneurial circles.
Among his duties, Plamondon will head up public consultations between Nov. 1 and March 31 on how to revitalize the party before the next election.
