The Quebec Liberals gained a new leader, and lost an MNA on Friday morning.
They named Mont-Royal-Outremont MNA Pierre Arcand to serve as the party's interim leader, in the wake of Philippe Couillard's retirement announcement on Thursday.
Arcand will serve until a new, permanent leader is chosen at a leadership convention. No timetable has been set for that yet.
Meanwihle, the party has decided to throw Chomedey MNA Guy Ouellette out of caucus — a decision Arcand said was "unanimous".
Reports surfaced in the final week of the election campaign suggesting Ouellette had transferred inside information on the Liberals to the CAQ.
Those emails allegedly showed a link between Liberal party organizer Pietro Perrino and Luigi Correti, a businessman who was once accused of fraud.
The Liberals were bumped from government, down to 32 seats on Monday night. They've now lost two of those seats in as many days.
