The Quebec government says members of its anti-corruption police squad UPAC will be investigating your child's school board — but it isn't clear why.
Education minister Sebastien Proulx has also appointed an auditor, Michelle Lapointe, to look into allegations of irregularities, which his office says are related to "academic progress, graduation and financing associated with certain vocational programs" at the two boards.
Proulx would not elaborate further, nor would Lester B. Pearson board chair Suanne Stein Day, who is pledging her full cooperation with any investigation.
"We have a very good working relationship with the ministry, both at the administrative and the council level," Stein Day says, "and we will cooperate with the auditor in every way possible."
There's no time frame on when a final report is expected.
