Les Foufounes Électriques will have to defend itself before the liquor licensing board in the new year because of complaints that its bouncers are too heavy-handed.
La Presse says there have been 44 complaints over four years about customers punched or manhandled by bouncers at the iconic nightspot.
The bar's lawyer insists the number of complaints is not significant, given that Les Foufounes is open and usually busy seven days a week.
The Régie des alcools hearing was supposed to be held last week but was pushed into next year by the job action by government lawyers.
