A new study on excessive drinking in Quebec has found those living in the Montreal and Laval regions are among those who consumed the lowest amount of alcohol in the province last year.
The CROP Éduc'alcool survey found Laval, Outaouais and Montreal residents showed the most moderation while those living in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, the North Shore and the Laurentians drank the most.
The report mentioned it was drivers in the Gaspésie / Îles-de-la-Madeleine region who were the most responsible when it came to abstaining from driving under the influence, while Montrealers drink the most when at a restaurant.
The results are based on the Éduc'alcool which considers consuming five or more drinks on the same occasion excessive.
