The trial of a Lasalle man accused in the murder of his wife in 2012 got underway at the Montreal courthouse Tuesday.
Ahman Nehme is charged in the death of his wife Catherine DeBoucherville.
Police say the couple was having marital problems and were considering separating.
In opening statements, the Crown alleged Nehme was extremely jealous and thought his wife of 19 years was cheating on him.
The prosecutor told the jury Nehme walked into the couple's bathroom, closed the door and attacked DeBoucherville.
A disturbing 9-1-1 call made by the couple's daughter, who was in the house at the time of the attack, was played for the jury.
