Federal Heritage Minister Mélanie Joly will again be a candidate in the next federal election.
Ms. Joly was confirmed Sunday at a nomination meeting to be the Liberal Party of Canada's candidate in the Montreal riding of Ahuntsic-Cartierville.
She was elected in 2015 with over 47% of the vote.
On her Facebook page, the minister said that the Liberal Party "continues its hard work to assemble winning campaign teams across the country, and that part of this work begins in Montreal".
Melanie Joly added that it is "hard to believe that the 2019 election will take place in less than 500 days."
Under Canada's fixed-term election law, the next federal election is expected to be held on October 21st, 2019.
