Will 2019 come in like a lion in Montreal?
Looks like it.
There's snow in the forecast for Sunday evening, just a 'little dusting", but it seems more so for New Year's eve with the weather office saying it seems we're in for mixed precipitation.
Environment Canada forecaster Denis Thibodeau said it'll all begin Monday evening.
"We're thinking it's going to go from snow to freezing rain. Could be looking at 5 to 10 centimeters of snow, say by midnight - 1 o'clock, at which point it'll likely switch over to freezing rain and look at about the same amounts, about 5 to 10 millimeters", said Thibodeau.
It should all taper off by daylight on Tuesday.
There is one good thing about the forecast. Winds will essentially stay calm.
As well, it'll get much colder as the week progresses.
The forecast high for Wednesday is minus 12 and then temperatures are expected to rebound after that.
