That special McDonald's Big Mac sauce available at a grocery store near you appears to be breaking the law.
Available since the spring, the fast food giant has been selling its Big Mac, McChicken and Filet-O-Fish sauces across Canada, however something is missing from the Big Mac bottle.
The Nutrition Facts Table.
According to Canada's Nutrition Labelling law it is mandatory for most prepackaged foods sold in Canada to show the Nutrition Facts Table (NFT) when sold to consumers. It must show calories, vitamins and minerals, Sodium, Potassium and Cholesterol and all other nutrients.
In place of the NFT the company included a line that reads "To receive nutrition information on this product call 1-800-567-5723" which is the Kraft Canada customer service line. Kraft is the distributor for the sauces in Canada.
The McChicken and Filet-O-Fish sauce bottles show the required information.
