An Iranian Montrealer facing deportation has been detained and is being held at a detention centre in Laval, pending her scheduled return to Iran on February 28.
During a routine hearing today, the 60 year old told Canada Border Services Agency that she fears imprisonment and death if she's deported.
She spent 3 years in an Iranian prison for political activism before moving to Canada 5 years ago.
Immigration officials decided last month that it was safe to send her back.
