A healthcare center in Dorval serving Inuit patients from Northern Quebec is going to try to have the permit revoked of a bar that`s supposed to open nearby.
The Ullivik Centre said it's appealing the liquor board's decision to issue a permit to Archie's Resto Bar, which is about 600 metres away from the centre.
The centre offers temporary shelter for members of the Inuit community receiving healthcare they can't get back home.
Director Maggie Putulik is accusing the bar owner of trying to lure Inuit clients who used to go to a bar he owns downtown, which he has denied.
Putulik said they already have issues with alcohol consumption among their patients.
"We're trying to keep them safe and not to be used as a source of profit," Putulik told CJAD 800.
Dorval is also appealing the decision.
